BAIRA Life Insurance Company Limited is a public limited company incorporated on 26th April 2000 under the Companies Act 1994. Our Certificate of Incorporation No is C-40139(2107)2000 & TIN No: 619813788514. The company has entitled business commencement certificate from Registrar of Joint Stock Companies dated on 26th April 2000. It has BDT 50,00,00,000 authorized capital and BDT 18,21,60,000 paid-up capital. The registered office of the Company was situated at Mahtab Center (9th Floor), 177, Shahid Syed Nazrul Islam Sharani, Bijoynagar, Dhaka-1000, Bangladesh. The company is a life insurer licensed by formerly Insurance Directorate, under Ministry of Commerce, Peoples Republic of Bangladesh, presently Insurance Development & Regulatory Authority (IDRA), under Ministry of Finance; operating business in Bangladesh. The company sells individual life insurance policy and Group life insurance policy. The company offers a wide variety of insurance products which fulfills the requirements of our present and prospective policyholders. At present, we have operated business in our country through 36 Service Cell, 100 Agency Office and 480 Unit offices. All our sponsor shareholders are member of BANGLADESH ASSOCIATION OF INTERNATIONAL RECRUITING AGENCIES (BAIRA). At present BAIRA is associated with 1519 members. Among of them 253 reputed persons are sponsor shareholders of BAIRA Life Insurance Company Ltd. Besides, we have high profile business well known person who are the sponsors shareholders of our company such as Mr A H M Mustafa Kamal, FCA, MP, Mr Mohammad Noor Ali, Mr Mohammad ABul Basher and others. Mr. Afsar Ahmed, FCA, AIA is an Actuary and SCOR Global Life SE of France is a Reinsurer of our company. Most of the Directors of the company are prominent figures in the society having ownership of many organizations. The company has effective and efficient workforce with a perfect combination of talent, youth and experience. At the end of 2021 the company had 85 permanent employees and more than 2000 development employees. These employees are amply trained and experienced on various phases of insurance activities and most importantly they are dedicated to their duty and responsibilities. The company always ensures better work environment for its employees and as a result, the employees become motivated to provide better services. Most of the senior employees are highly qualified and professional degree holders. They have been trained at home and abroad. Financial performance of the company is very strong and positive. Total assets of the company as at 31 December 2021 stood at BDT 75,00,00,000 and life fund BDT 45,00,00,000. The company invested its fund in schedule banks and Govt Treasuries & Capital Market, where from good income is generated and as a result attractive returns are available to give benefits to shareholders as well as policyholders as dividend and bonus. The company always maintained strong corporate culture, corporate governance, code of conduct, ethical principles and corporate social responsibilities.
